On Easter Sunday thousands of people flock to Assisi for services. I like to attend the Vigil Mass at the small Church of Santa Margherita, overlooking the Basilica of San Francesco. The church has seating for about seventy, although it seems about one hundred usually manage to squeeze in. It helps to arrive early. The service is always wonderful.
In addition to filling the churches, visitors explore, dine, take pictures and enjoy the sweeter side of Assisi, as well. For example, I can imagine some well-heeled person who enjoys sole food footing the bill for a pair of these treats.
(A while after taking this picture I passed by the window again and the white shoes were gone, someone probably having walked off with them.) Children of any age would likely enjoy one (or more) of these little critters.
Hope everyone had a happy Easter!
Ciao.
